Today I drive down to Iron Eagle Trailers in Fairview, OR and picked up the purpose-built foundation for our Tiny Home! This trailer system offers several advantages over the traditional flatbed approach:

• No wasted materials (removal of existing decking)
• The deck framing is recessed 6-inches, allowing the floor joists to sit below deck level of the trailer (adding overall height in the home)
• Galvanized flashing comes pre-installed
• Leveling jacks come pre-installed and are user-replaceable
• Pre-installed flashing on the fenders to prevent water leaking where wall framing meets the fender contour
• Frame is pre-drilled for securing joists and walls to the trailer frame

The trailer features two 7,000lb axels with electric brakes. The brake system also includes a battery and “dead-man-switch” in the event that the trailer comes disconnected from the tow vehicle, the battery will apply full power to the brake system. I must say, the build quality is amazing. These guys really do a great job and to top it all off, they charge less than many other trailer manufacturers!
